When and how will Shawn Michaels return back to the squared circle? What role will Mick Foley play at the Hell In A Cell pay-per-view? What is the latest update pertaining to the rumor of Pentagon Dark and Rey Fenix heading to WWE? What are the current plans for the main-event of Survivor Series? And, which former Women’s Champion will return at Evolution? We take a look at all these rumors and hope it eventually turns out to be true.

Without any further ado, here are 11 WWE Rumors that should come true.

#11 Austin Theory to head towards NXT

This weekend, Velveteen Dream showed up at his first non-WWE event since signing with the company. He took on Austin Theory in an Evolve show at Maryland Championship Wrestling Arena and defeated him.

After the match, the former MCW Tag Team Champion cut a promo praising his battered opponent. Here is what he said (H/T: givemesport.com):

Austin Theory had a tryout with WWE this year. Although it didn’t go successfully, we have seen in the past that WWE keep tracks of their tryouts and call them later.

Austin Theory only turned 21 in August this year. Moreover, he has already been in the ring with industry stalwarts like Keith Lee, Sami Callihan, and Homicide to name a few. With age on his side, it is only a matter of time since he joins a huge promotion. WWE should capitalize on him and offer him a contract before Ring Of Honor or Impact Wrestling do the needful.

#10 Melina to appear for Evolution

The Evolution leaked match card looks awful to say the least. While we can’t confirm if it’s a fan-made match card or the real one, an astonishing name in it is that of the former WWE Divas Champion Melina.

Melina is currently competing in the Australian independent circuit and even has gold around her waist. Surprisingly, the rumored match card features her in singles action against Naomi. Joe Peiseich of Barnburner’s Fired Up Podcast speculated on the matter and said the following (H/T: Ringsidenews.com):

Melina had won the Women’s Championship twice and the Divas Championship thrice during her stay in the WWE. It is surprising to note that she wasn’t called at the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble which featured many prominent wrestlers of the past like Michelle McCool, Beth Phoenix, Lita and Trish Stratus among others. An appearance at Evolution would ensure that the company hasn’t forgotten about her.

#9 Women’s Tag team titles to be announced at Evolution

Another thing to note on the rumored leaked match card is that of a special announcement segment which is stacked between the opening match for the NXT UK Women’s Championship and Carmella’s talk show segment with the Ladies of GLOW.

Joe Peiseich of Barnburner’s Fired Up Podcast conjectured that it could be regarding the announcement for the Women’s Championship and a Fatal-4-Way match to crown the first ever champions.

The leaked match card does note a Fatal-4-Way match for the Women’s Tag Team Championship indeed. It features the team of Alicia Fox and Kelly Kelly, the IIconics, the team of Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, and the team of Beth Phoenix and Natalya. Only time will tell if the rumor comes out to be true.

#8 Harper to work a lot of NXT events

Last week, Harper made a surprise appearance at the NXT Buffalo Live Event and challenged Ricochet for the NXT North American Championship. Although he had ended on the losing side, it was a good sign to see him work NXT live events rather than jobbing on the main roster.

Many fans deduced that it was a one-off as Buffalo is his home town. However, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio speculates that it isn’t the case. Here is what he said on the recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Live (heard via Ringsidenews.com):

As mentioned previously, it is a good sign that he is working live events in NXT than jobbing on the main roster. NXT has grown leaps and bounds under the tutelage of Triple H and is in no manner considered inferior to the main roster. On the brighter side, they are consistently outshining those in the main roster.

#7 Double turn expected at the match between Becky Lynch and Charlotte

The feud between Becky Lynch and Charlotte hasn’t developed exactly the way WWE wanted. The fans are booing the babyface and cheering the heel whom they see as an anti-hero.

However, WWE can swim with the tide if they book a double turn at this Hell In A Cell PPV. And, according to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Newsletter that is the plan now.

The author has written down an article titled ‘5 Things WWE fans would love to see at Hell In A Cell.’ The speculation of a double turn makes it first to the list followed by some “wishful thinking” like Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman starting the match from the top of the Cell and Jeff Hardy diving from twenty foot high in the air.

#6 Pentagon Dark and Fenix’s possible departure to be used as a storyline in MLW

Pentagon Dark cut a promo this week on PCW in which he stated that he isn’t leaving the company and would stay on. It put to rest all the rumors that he is WWE bound. However, MLW might tease his possible departure in a storyline.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Live, Pentagon Dark and Rey Fenix couldn’t leave the independent circuit until Season 4 of Lucha Underground concludes. While the Season Premiere or the Ultima Lucha is set to air in the last week of January 2019, we shouldn’t expect them to be WWE bound any time soon. PWInsider further speculates that MLW will use their possible departure to the WWE and the uncertainty of staying at the independent circuit in a storyline.

One of the best thing about professional wrestling is that the fourth wall is very fragile. In 2011, WWE used CM Punk’s uncertain future in the corporate juggernaut in a storyline. It did pay off and set things in motion for his run as a WWE Champion for 434 days. We don’t know if the MLW team, Pentagon Dark, and Fenix could play the storyline to perfection. Nonetheless, we do wish that this rumor comes true.

#5 Matt Riddle to face Velveteen Dream

After weeks of speculation and rumors, Matt Riddle has finally penned the deal with the WWE. And, now one question continuously hovers around the fans’ mind: With whom will he be involved in his first feud? Well, we have an answer to it, and he is none other than the Velveteen Dream.

Velveteen Dream sent out a tweet hinting a potential clash with the “King of Bros.”

We might have conjectured too far, but such is the nature of the pro-wrestling industry that we can’t help it out. Nonetheless, we do hope that this rumor comes to fruition and Matt Riddle faces Velveteen Dream in the yellow and black brand before Vince McMahon calls out the latter.

#4 Survivor Series main event plans

The main-event of the Survivor Series is usually a 5-on-5 Elimination tag team match. For the past two years, the match and the PPV has been used to determine which is the better brand. However, that might not be the case this year.

According to Joe Peiseich of Barnburner’s Fired Up Podcast, WWE is planning out a match to deduce which is the strongest faction. Here is what he said (H/T Thomas Lowson of Sportskeeda):

A match to determine which is the strongest faction is a welcome change over the traditional 5-on-5 elimination tag team match. Let’s hope that it comes true.

#3 Edge to return at SmackDown 1000

Edge is one of the pivotal reasons why SmackDown is able to complete 1000 episodes. And, a lot of fans might scratch their head if he doesn’t show up at their celebratory episode. Edge himself tweeted that he hasn’t been called to make an appearance.

However, PWInsider reports that all this is a work. Edge is waiting for WWE to announce that he will be making an appearance so that his inclusion seems special.

Edge was one of the most “over” superstars in the SmackDown roster whether as a heel or a face. He should make an appearance in the show whether WWE announces it beforehand or not.

#2 Mick Foley to take a bump at Hell In A Cell match

Mick Foley’s last-minute addition as a special guest referee seems bizarre to be honest. Other than the fact that it has been twenty years since he took the historic bump, Mick Foley/Mankind/Dudley Love has no role in the match whatsoever.

However, to add an element of nostalgia into the match, he might take a bump. Here is what Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated wrote in his weekly column (H/T: Rajah.com):

We hope that “at least one significant bump” means nothing more than a Running Powerslam. There is no way he would be thrown off the top of the Cell.

#1 Brothers of Destruction to re-unite in Saudi Arabia for a tag team match

Brothers of Destruction is one of the most dreaded and respected tag team in the pro-wrestling business. Kane and the Undertaker have faced each other and partnered each other numerous times, and going by the recent rumors, they may have one more run.

According to Randall Ortman of Cagesideseats, the current backstage plans is to reunite Kane and the Undertaker so that they can form a tag team and have a match at Saudi Arabia. One ought to note that this is the same Saudi Arabia show where Shawn Michaels is expected to make his return. Will they square-off against D Generation X?

Randall Ortman further speculates that there would be heavy promotion for the match between Triple H and Undertaker at the Super ShowDown, and it won’t settle their feud. As a matter of fact, it will lead to a series of matches. Only time will tell in which direction this feud will play out and will it lead to the return of the Heartbreak Kid.

Follow Sportskeeda for the latest WWE news, rumors and all other wrestling news.

The article has been made up purely on some rumours and with some educated guess as to what will be coming to your TV screen as we move forward.

So today in this list we’re going to take a look at rumours like, what’s next for Strowman, will The Rock make his appearance at SmackDown 1000 and also who will main event WrestleMania with the Universal Championship or WWE Championship.

#11 Shawn Michaels to play a guest referee at Super Show-Down

On the last edition of Raw, it was announced, Shawn Michaels will make his return this week on the red brand to talk about the upcoming match between The Undertaker and Triple H at WWE Super Show-Down on October 6. Last time The Undertaker faced off Triple H was at WrestleMania 28 (inside Hell in a Cell) with Shawn Michaels playing the key role of special guest referee in the match.

As seen earlier today on Raw, Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker got a little bit too personal talking about the upcoming match. While The Undertaker said to Michaels that he fears him that’s why he hasn’t come out of his retirement not because he respects The Deadman.

As per the latest rumor, Michaels will not be appearing on SSD just to see this upcoming match, to be the special guest referee for this so-called “Last-Time Ever” match.

And if the rumour comes true then we might see the recap of this match at SSD except this match won’t be held inside HIAC.

#10 No Backstage Heat on Velveteen Dream

The Velveteen Dream faced-off former TNA star EC3 at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn IV. In the bout, Dream came atop defeating his opponent. But during that PPV he wore a pair of tight on which “Call Me Up Vince” was written.

After this, some rumors were suggesting that due to this action of him he has garnered some backstage heat due to which he is forced to wrestle at Evolve on September 7. But as per the latest rumor on ringsidenews, the same might not be the case.

The tight was agreed before the match and it was meant for one of Dream’s friends, not for WWE CEO Vince McMahon. And speaking of his upcoming match at Evolve, he is not punished to wrestle their but after seeing his history with the promotion he agreed on it himself. So clearly there is no backstage heat on him and he’s good to go.

#9 Braun Strowman turned heel so he could lose on his Money in the Bank cash-in

This past week on Raw, Braun Strowman turned heel and aligned himself with Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre to lay out all three members of The Shield. Many rumours were suggesting that this decision was taken for the sake of Roman Reigns but be seeing it this might not be the same case as it seems.

As per the rumour, Strowman has turned heel for the sake of himself and it was the decision of WWE officials. The possible reason coming out for this is that at Hell in a Cell he might end up losing to Roman Reigns in the Universal Championship match.

And by turning him heel will suppress his effect of having an unsuccessful cash-in. After all, he will become the fourth superstar in WWE history to have an unsuccessful cash-in.

#8 The Shield’s reunion

Just two weeks ago on an edition of Monday Night Raw, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose reunited once again as The Shield to lay down the beating on the Monster Among Men, Braun Strowman when he finally tried to cash in his MITB contract on Reigns.

As per the latest rumour, the decision of making The Sheild reunited was only taken so WWE merchandise sales could be boasted not for any feud between the three superstars. This decision of boasting their merchandise would work definitely as Roman Reigns is already the top dog in the merchandise selling.

And by red-hot Rollins and returning Ambrose by his side their sales could touch the highest peak in coming months. So it will be curious to see how The Shield storyline will be shaped in coming months.

#7 Bray Wyatt’s gimmick to be slightly changed

Bray Wyatt aligned with “Broken” Matt Hardy after his brief feud with him. Since then the two superstars have gone to become the Raw Tag Team Champions.

Sadly Matt Hardy is now turned into a backstage role after his severe condition of spine fusing. Speaking of Wyatt, his new direction was unknown until now.

As per the rumour, Wyatt gimmick is expected to go under a slight change upon his return to the company and he might be on the receiving end of a push as a babyface.

But for now, he has been taken off from T.V for at least some time. Just expect Wyatt to get on bigger things he returns on-screen.

#6 WWE Putting the SD Live Women’s Championship on Becky Lynch soon

Becky Lynch turned heel a few weeks ago back at SummerSlam PPV. But her heel turn has flopped badly before even it got clearly started. Fans aren’t turning their back on Lynch just yet.

This past week at SD Live when she was beating her former friend Charlotte the fans were more on Becky’s side than Charlotte. It was like they were cheering for her. But as per ringsidenews, WWE is clearly looking to put the title on her going forward.

And the title could possibly change hands at Evolution PPV seeing how big profile show it going to be. Also, the major thing that will play out in this storyline is fans. WWE has left the decision on them. They possibly will put the title on Becky if the fans turn their back on her.

#5 The Rock to appear at SmackDown 1000

WWE Smackdown will be delivering their 1000 episode on October 16. The Rock is also speculated to appear at the very edition in Washington D.C. He’s currently in talks with the company and if all things fit his movie schedules then he might be appearing at the show.

Currently, The Rock is filming Disney’s Jungle Cruise and its production will over this month. After it, he will start filming upcoming Suicide Squad movie in October and the location of the movie is not very far from the Smackdown 1000 location. It will take just an hour for him to reach the SD 1000 venue and shock everyone there.

Also, The Rock has recently desired to get back in the ring one more time and lace up his boots and have a fight. And what could be a better way than this after all blue brand show name is named after one of his catchphrases?

#4 Drew McIntyre is Roman Reigns next challenger for the Universal title

Drew McIntyre was a part of WWE’s main roster back in 2009 since then the boss saw him as the future World Champion. Many believed he was The Chosen One but as the time run, he became a part of a 3MB faction. After this alliance, his charisma was lost and eventually he was later released by WWE.

But he saw his release as a challenge to make himself more dominant and better. So he returned in 2017 to NXT brand and there he becomes NXT Champion. After the superstar shake-up, he made his debut with Dolph Ziggler. Since then he has beaten the kike of Seth Rollins.

According to a rumour on Mirror, Drew McIntyre is next in line to receive a huge push as a top heel and challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. While many fans may think this will happen later rather than sooner but the case might be upside-down.

#3 WWE may be planning an NXT invasion storyline

The NXT brand is giving the boost to upcoming superstars on the main roster which they need. Apart from the Raw and SD Live, the yellow brand is mostly successful to deliver at least a five-star rating match every pay-per-view they held. NXT is shaping the superstars like the main roster couldn’t do.

The latest rumour that is doing some round-ups, WWE is planning a big invasion storyline between the main roster and NXT brand. And if the rumour comes true then we may see this big storyline playing out in a year or two around WrestleMania season.

Seeing how big this is going to be WWE can’t leave a single gap for any mistake in this and it will be curious to see how they are going to play it out when the time comes. All three brands will be looking to feature their top guys to make them more successful than ever.

#2 The Miz is next in line to become WWE Champion

The Miz is the most improved wrestler from the past year. He has worked great on his promos as well as on in-ring performance. He and his wife Maryse has now their own TV show Miz and Mrs. which has completed their first season and the second season is already in line.

According to the ringsidenews, Miz has become the new locker room leader which gives us a hint as to why he’s being pushed greatly against many popular superstars on blue brand and supposedly he is now seen as a future WWE Champion in the company.

Just expect a feud down the road between AJ Styles and The Miz for the WWE Championship in which Miz could possibly come out atop winning the WWE Championship.

#1 Roman Reigns vs The Rock at WrestleMania 35 for the Universal Championship

Last time The Rock worked in a match at WrestleMania was back in 2015 where he squashed former Wyatt family member Erick Rowan in an impromptu match (only in 6 seconds).

Since then he hasn’t been seen working at WrestleMania but this time it’s different. He’s being rumoured to make an appearance at SmackDown 1000. And also, at next year’s Royal Rumble. He is rumoured to win that match and supposedly go to main event WrestleMania against his cousin Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship.

And according to a report at cagesideseat, Roman Reigns is expected to have a lengthy run as a WWE Universal Champion. Apparently, The Rock is also close to agreeing on a deal with the company. If the rumour comes true then we might see The Rock making few appearances after next year’s Royal Rumble to finalize his match at WrestleMania 35.
